Company History

The Chogart Mine is located 10 km northeast of Bafq, 120 km southeast of Yazd, and 75 km southwest of Bahabad, on the edge of Iran's central desert, with a hot, dry, low-humidity climate.

The Chogart ore body originally stood 1,286 meters above sea level, about 150 meters above the surrounding terrain. The mine is connected by national rail: 1,000 km to Tehran, 470 km to the Isfahan steel smelter, and 610 km via Sirjan to Bandar Abbas.

Operations at the Chogart Mine began in Shahrivar 1350 (Sept. 1971). The mine was identified as Iran's finest in terms of iron ore quantity and quality, with supplementary exploration and equipping carried out alongside exploration of other mines and ore deposits.
